How to Transfer Your Domain Seamlessly
Before starting, confirm your domain meets the transfer requirements:
Domain must be active (not expired)
Domain must be at least 60 days old
Your current registrar must allow transfers
Contact your current registrar and request the following:
Unlock your domain (change status from locked to active)
Disable WHOIS privacy protection
Obtain your EPP code (also called Authorization Code or Transfer Key)
Note: You can do these things by yourself by logging in to your former regsistrar client portal, click the domain of choice and action on these.
If you are also moving your website and email hosting to Hordanso:
Share your current cPanel username and password with our support team
Our team will back up your entire website and all email accounts
Wait for confirmation from our team before proceeding to Step 4
Domain transfers take up to 5 days. During this time, DNS settings are locked.
To avoid website downtime:
Ask your current registrar to update your nameservers to Hordanso's nameservers
Do this BEFORE you approve the transfer
Your traffic will continue flowing to your website during the transfer
Check the inbox of your domain's administrative email address
Your current registrar will send a transfer authorization email
Click the approval link inside that email
This gives final permission for the domain to move to Hordanso
Once the domain transfer is complete:
Verify all website links are working
Update your email client settings (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) with new server settings
Enable domain lock and privacy protection on Hordanso
Domain Status: Must be active (not expired)
Transfer Window: Domains under 60 days old cannot transfer
Hosting Migration: cPanel to cPanel only (automated). Other panels require manual migration.
Downtime Prevention: Update nameservers BEFORE approving transfer
